Cut

When the forsythia bloom, roses are cut. But how? Important is a sharp pair of scissors, which leaves a clean cut. First remove diseased, dead and frostbitten wood.
Floribunda roses can have three or four young shoots and can be cut back at 20 to 40 cm (8 – 16 inches) above an outward facing bud. Shorten miniature roses to 10 to 15 cm (4 – 6 inches).
Shrub roses are not cut until several years after planting. After that, only now and then thin out by removing some olderdrives at ground level. In addition, shorten shoots  by a third.
Cut the crown of a long stems and special forms down to about 20 – 30 cm (8 – 12 inches).
Climbers that flower often get a light pruning in spring. With one-time flowering climbing roses, completely cut the oldestinstincts every few years only. Otherwise shorten them a little after flowering.

Fertilize
