Latest after the first frost, the tubers (bulbs) of Canna need to come off the ground so they have a chance to survive the winter. Cut the green six inches above the ground and dig out the rhizomes (rootstock). Then allow to dry and put them headfirst into dry sand. The same is true for Dahlia and Gladiolus tubers.
