With a little luck, it will flower again next year. To make an amaryllis bloom in the following year is not that difficult. If you want to try it, here are some helpful tips:

Cut the flower stalk after flowering but do not remove the leaves, so that they can develop fully. Pour regularly and fertilize well with a standard fertilizer for flowering plants until September. The pot should then be placed in a cool but frost-free place in late October – for example, in the basement. After six to eight weeks, you can move the pot to a warm place and then start watering. Dried leaves can be removed, but the plant should be repotted only when it is absolutely necessary. If you follow this expert advice and if you have a little luck, the amaryllis will bloom in the second year as spectacular as in the first one.
